http://bit.ly/1cxAeatI hope everyone is having a great end to their week so far.
This weekend, I plan on catching up on some much needed sleep, going through my entire email box, and watching the entire Oscar Sunday special.
Recently I just signed up to go back to the gym after about a year of actually not going to the gym, and I know that in order to keep feeling healthy and alive, that I had to change my eating habits.
I’ve heard from a lot of friends and colleagues, that nothing works better then living a fit and active lifestyle, along with either natural detoxing or natural juicing.
So, this week, I thought I would give an all natural detox a try.
I chose to go with Kaeng Raeng.
Kaeng Raeng is an all natural 3-day-detox program that is soy free, and all you have to literally do is add either your preference of water or juice with the pouch that they give you. They recommend using one pouch with about 24-32 oz of water or juice.
You can also blend this detox program with frozen fruit or ice for a thicker, colder smoothie appeal.
Personally, I loved this detox program so far, and I will be using it a lot more in the future.
Remember, that when you live a healthy and fit lifestyle, you guide through a better life.

Kaeng Raeng featured on Keeping Healthy, Getting Stylish
Check out this great review of Kaeng Raeng, published on Keeping Healthy Getting Stylish:
http://keepinghealthygettingstylish.com/2014/03/different-kind-cleanse-kaeng-raeng.html
Over the years I’ve done several different ‘cleanses’. Everything from juice fasts to removing certain foods from my diet for a month, to smoothies all day etc. I know that detoxes can sometimes get a bad rap, but personally I think they can be useful for some people when they are done in the right way and for the right length of time for that individual.
Kaeng Raeng is an all natural, vegan and gluten free cleanse programme. It is also free from artificial sweeteners, colours, flavourings and laxatives. The formulas come in either a soy containing or a soy free, pea protein containing formula. The programme was developed in California by personal trainer Lindsay Reinsmith and has fans including Skinny Bitch author Kim Barnouin and InStyle magazine.
The idea of the programme is to have 3 smoothies a day made with the sachets as well as raw vegan foods – so as much fruit, veggies and raw nuts as you need. I always find cleanse where you can actually eat something better than those that are purely liquid only, at least for me!
Each sachet is 200 calories and contains 15g of pea protein in the soy free version, as well as raw freeze dried fruit powder, vitamins and minerals and probiotics. You can choose from a 3 or 6 day programme, with different ‘levels’ including beginner, veteran and master levels. The flavours include ”joyful” (strawberry, raspberry, pineapple); “daybreak” (mango, peach, pineapple); and “into the blue” (blueberry, banana).
I was sent a 3 day soy free Kaeng Raeng cleanse to try out, however just after I received it I found out I was pregnant, and obviously no kind of cleansing or detoxing should ever be done in pregnancy. Instead I gave some sachets to my friends and work colleagues Donna and Gillian to see what they thought.
They both did a one day version of the cleanse at the office – we have a blender in the kitchen in our office, a sign of a healthy work place indeed! Here’s what Donna said:
‘When using the detox packs I was pleasantly surprised at how much you actually made from just one packet. I used the packs with frozen berries (which was suggested) and found them quite filling with no feelings of hunger cropping up during the day as there would normally be. By the end of the detox I felt less bloated and that it had worked well to clear my body and make me feel refreshed. I weighed myself in the morning and found that by the end of the day I’d lost 2lbs! I would definitely try them again for another future detox’
They also said that they formula definitely needed to be blended with fruit or juice as would have tasted a bit funky without it, but it is recommended that you enjoy it that way in any case. They also said they needed to visit the loo more often during the day, but that this was a good sign of the formula doing it’s job!
I also contacted Kaeng Raeng to explain about my pregnancy and discuss how the formula could be used. My contact at Kaeng Raeng is pregnant too, and found that the smoothies were great for helping with nausea because they are so nutrient dense. So instead I tried adding some of the formula to my regular smoothies for added nutrients.
I’ve been adding half a sachet to my daily smoothies along with fresh or frozen fruit, greens and some healthy fat like chia. As the formula is so nutrient dense and contains probiotics, cleansing aside, I think it is handy to add into smoothies like this.
A 3 day cleanse costs $79.99 (around £50) and is available direct from the Kaeng Raeng website or Amazon.com. Usually I would be pretty sceptical of cleanse or detox powders like this, but the ingredients in these looks sound to me, and the results that Donna and Gillian enjoyed shows that it is effective. Way after pregnancy and breast feeding I do think I would enjoy some kind of cleanse and I would definitely be interested in trying this again. As this is a raw cleanse, I do believe that it would be best done in the warmer spring and summer months. I feel that raw cleansing in the winter goes against what your body needs at that time of year, however doing this in the spring and summer would be really nice.
You can find out more about Kaeng Raeng on their website, Facebook and Twitter.
I’m also very happy to be able to offer KHGS readers an exclusive 15% discount using code STYLISH15 valid until 9th March 2014.
Have you tried a cleanse or detox before? Would you prefer a cleanse where you can eat whole foods too?
